Clean & Safe Cosmetology™: our product commitments

For over 10 years, CODAGE has been campaigning for greater transparency and honesty in the cosmetics industry. The effectiveness, tolerance, naturality and ecodesign of our skincare products have always been our strongest commitments. Since these values drive us every single day, we must be exemplary - and we do our best for a « CLEAN and SAFE » COSMETOLOGY™.

Over the last twenty months, CODAGE's teams have worked hard to improve our products, update our formulas and optimize our packaging in order to meet the most demanding expectations in terms of skin tolerance, effectiveness, naturality and eco-design. All of our products will be re-launched by the end of 2022, and all of our new future products will be part of a commitment charter that we're delighted to share with you today!

Commitment #1: increasingly ""clean"" formulas

Our banned ingredients list is growing, and by the end of 2022, there will be no CODAGE formulas that contain them: Parabens, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, BHT, BHA, EDTA, Triclosan, Mineral oil (petrolatum, paraffin), Silicone, Dye, Sulphates (SLES / SLS), Phthalates, Alcohol, Animal ingredients*, Essential oil**, Allergen.

Even though they were used in extremely limited concentrations, and thus without any negative effects on the body, we will soon be able to say that our products are completely free of any potential endocrine disruptors, petrochemical derivatives, irritants and/or pollutants for optimal tolerance products.

Do not hesitate to scan our recently updated formulas on some beauty app like Yuka - we’re now green on all new formula on it.

Commitment #2: increasingly effective formulas

All of our formulas have been revamped, and we updated our collection of active ingredients with the latest technologies: stem cell extracts, plant extracts, algae extracts and new peptides will be introduced into our 2021 collection!

All of these new ingredients are systematically validated by in-vivo and in-vitro clinical tests. None of these tests are performed on animals, so that we remain totally cruelty-free.

Commitment #3: increasingly natural formulas

Our teams have worked hard to reach very high percentages of naturality: the first formulas re-launched in 2021 achieved an average of 94.4% of natural ingredients (vs. 88.9% previously).

We are almost at our goal of 100% natural products, but we don't want to sacrifice the effectiveness and sensoriality of our formulas. That's why we're still using some synthetic ingredients, only when they are good and necessary though!

Commitment #4 : always improving packaging

Packaging in cosmetics remains an area where all brands need to improve, including CODAGE. For 2021, we redesigned some of our smaller cases in order to better protect products, optimize point of sale displays, and reduce our carbon footprint by reducing the amount of paper used.

For our new packaging, we promote the selection of FSC paper and cardboard, as well as recycled or bio-sourced plastics when we can't use glass. We also always keep in mind to select those that are the most recyclable.
